Members of the County Assembly yesterday unanimously passed a motion paving way for automation of all building plans in the County.
Through the committee on Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development which is chaired by Tebere Ward MCA Hon. Peter Karinga, members noted that the move will fasten the approval process while also reduce corruption which has been rampant in various parts of the Country in the recent past.

The initiative was aimed at deepening the public’s understanding of constitutional mandates of the County Assembly. Public Accounts And Investment Committee (Piac) Urge Kicowasco Management To Be Prudent In Use Of Public Resources

The management of Kirinyaga County Water and Sanitation Company (KICOWASCO) has been urged to take necessary steps in ensuring that public resources are spent prudently.
This follows the Auditor Generalโs report in the water company for the year ended 2022 that raised eyebrows on the Board of Directorโs spending which exceeded the budget by 68 percent hence breaking the recommended WASREB guidelines.
Education Information Management System underway as members pass motion

Members of the County Assembly have this afternoon passed a motion that seeks to compel the Executive to set up an Education Information Management System (EIMS) which will make it efficient for the department of education to carry out its mandate.

The Speaker of the County Assembly Hon. Muteti Murimi today held a meeting with the Political Counselor at the United States Embassy Mr. Tim Trenkle and the Internal Affairs Unit Chief Mr. Cameron Jones who a paid courtesy call on him in his office.

The Committee on Public Service which is Chaired by Hon. Bernard Gichangi, took the better part of the day vetting the Governorโs nominees for positions of County Secretary and Chairperson of the County Public Service Board (CPSB).
Mr. Anthony Kimathi, the County Secretary nominee, was upbeat that once sworn into office, he will streamline the County Public Service which currently has more than 3,000 employees.
