The Bill, which was read for the first time on December 5 2023, aims to regulate operation of liquor outlets across the County as well as recommend hefty punishment to unscrupulous traders who continue to pose health risks to residents.
Kirinyaga County has in the recent past been in the headlines for the wrong reasons following the death of 23 individuals who succumbed as a result of consumption of illicit liquor.
Yesterday, Speaker of the County Assembly Hon. Muteti Murimi, held deliberations with the County Security Committee which was led by the County Commissioner Mr. Hussein Allasow with the latter giving recommendations on the Bill.
