As part of its outreach program the Assembly took part in the Kamweti Agricutural Open Day. The initiative was aimed at deepening the public’s understanding of constitutional mandates of the County Assembly. Key among the areas where members of the public were taken through include the legislation process, roles of Members of the County Assembly and updates on the laws enacted by the third assembly.
The CECM for agriculture Hon. John Gachara, was among the first to visit the Assembly stand with his counterpart in Trade Hon. Calbert Njeru, thanking the Assembly for taking time to showcase the institution’s mandate. The event also saw the Chairperson of the Agriculture commitee and Kangai Ward MCA Hon. James Wambu accompanied by his counterpart from Njukiini Hon. Timothy Kathuri visit the Assembly stand.
The Kamweti Agricultural show is an annual event that links farmers with technical experts with an aim of increasing agricultural production and learning modern farming techniques. The event organized by the County Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Veterinary Services was attended by farmers and stakeholders from across the county.
