The County Assembly has approved the Inter- Governmental Conditional Allocations
Transfer Agreements for programs funded by conditional grants in the county.
The approval of these agreements paves way for strategic collaboration between
the National Government and the County Government of Kirinyaga.
The programs to be funded by the grants include:
a) The Agriculture Sector Development Support Programme, (ASDSP)
b) The Financing Locally – Led Climate Action, FLLoCA
c) The County Aggregation and Industrial Parks, (CAIPs)
d) The National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Projects, NARIGP
e) The Community Health Promoters, (CHP)
f) The DANIDA Grant (Universal Healthcare in Devolved System Program)
g) The National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project, (NAVCDP)
h) The Aquaculture Business Development Programme, (ABDP)
The MCAs approved the agreements at a special sitting held today through
a motion moved by the chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations committee Hon. Geoffrey Murimi Gakuru
While approving the agreements the MCAs noted that the approach of collaboration between the two levels
of government is expected to foster development and ensure accountability in the utilization of resource
