HON.Mbungu Daniel Muriithi

Leader of the Majority Party

Hon. Daniel Muriithi Mbungu is a Member of the County Assembly elected on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket to represent Ngariama Ward.
Hon. Mbungu is Bachelor of Commerce graduate from the University of Nairobi. He is also Certified Public Account of Kenya (CPAK).
He is currently the Leader of Majority Party in the County Assembly with the sole responsibility of spearheading the legislative agenda of the majority party. He is the Chairperson of the Selection Committee. He further serves as the vice chairperson of the Appointment and County Assembly Business Committees. He sits as a member in the Implementation and Budget and Appropriations Committees.
In addition to his roles of the Leader of Majority Party, Hon. Mbungu is a member of the County Assembly Service Board where he serves as the vice chairperson.
Prior to his election Hon. Mbungu worked for Faulu Kenya for a period of nine years. He is an astute business man with business interests in several areas.
Outside politics Hon. Mbungu loves to provide mentorship to the youth. He has indeed inspired several youth to harness leadership opportunities on personal, career and entrepreneurial development through his mentorship programs.

Hon. Njamumo Jinaro Namu-MCA Mutithi Ward

Hon.Njamumo Jinaro Namu

Deputy Speaker & MCA-Mutithi-Ward.

Hon. Jinaro Namu Njamumo is a second time Member of the County Assembly elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ticket to represent Mutithi ward.
He is currently serving as the Deputy Speaker of the third County Assembly and the Chairperson of the Liaison committee. .
He also sits as member in various committees of the County Assembly including: Procedure and Rules, Budget and Appropriations, Physical Planning, Lands, and Housing and Implementation
committees. In his first term as an MCA Hon. Njamumo served as the Chairperson of the Finance and Economic Committee
He has over thirty years’ experience in multiple industries including: farming, business, and politics.
Outside politics Hon. Njamumo is family man who enjoys reading, and spending time with his family.

Hon.David Kinyua Wangui

MCA-Mutira Ward

Hon. David Kinyua Wangui is a Member of the County Assembly of Kirinyaga elected on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to represent Mutira ward. He was elected to the position in the year 2013. He holds Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Chemistry from Kenyatta University. Hon. Kinyua is the chairperson of the Legal Affairs, and Delegated County Legislation Committee. He also sits as a member in the Implementation, Lands Physical Planning and Housing, Environment, Water and Natural Resources and Cooperatives, Trade, Marketing, Tourism Industrialization and Enterprise Development Committees of the County Assembly. In the second County Assembly, Hon Kinyua chaired the Implementation committee in the County Assembly.  He also served as a member in various commitees including: Finance, Economic Planning, Marketing and ICT, Cooperative Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Enterprise Development and Powers and Privileges Commitees. He served as the Leader of Majority Party and the Deputy Chairperson of the County Assembly Service Board form the year 2014 to the year 2107. 

When he is not serving the people of Mutira Hon. Kinyua loves to play football and relax with a good movie.

Hon.Munyi David Mathenge

MCA-Baragwi-ward

Hon. David Mathenge is a Member of the County Assembly of Kirinyaga representing Baragwi ward. He was elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ticket. He first joined active politics in the year 2013 when he was first elected to represent Baragwi ward.
Hon. Mathenge holds an MBA in Finance from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Mathematics) degree from the University of Nairobi. He is also a Certified Public Accountant having studied accounts up to level 5. He holds a Certificate in Budgeting from the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training.
Hon. Mathenge is currently serving as the vice chairperson of the Legal Affairs and Delegated County Legislation Committee. He as well sits as member in the County Public Investments and Accounts and the Sports and Social Services committees
In his second term he served as the chairman of the Budget and Appropriation Committee a position he held since 2013. In addition to the Budget and Appropriations committee he served in the Transport and Public Works, Finance, Economic Planning, Marketing and ICT, Environment, Water and Natural Resources committees and The Committee of Appointments.
As part of his MBA project Hon. Mathenge worked as a project manager for IFMIS. The project focused on providing a structured framework for development and deployment of a fully functional, automated planning and budgeting system, aimed at improving the accuracy and efficiency in the government’s planning and budgeting process.
Hon. Mathenge is also the director Bubbling Talents, and the Managing director RM Gichimbi and Prime Cutz -City Market. He served as a congress man in his university days under the then students union SONU.
When he is not doing politics Hon. Mathenge is playing football as he is a football enthusiast playing for Gichugu FC, he loves to encourage the youth and in his free time he engages as a motivational speaker. His passion for helping the needy has also led him to start his own foundation M&M Foundation that focuses on improving the lives of the less fortunate.

Hon.Muthura Joseph Kiragu

MCA-Thiba Ward

Hon Joseph Kiragu Muthura is Member of the County Assembly representing Thiba Ward. The first time MCA was elected on The Service Party (TSP) ticket.
Hon. Kiragu holds diploma in Business Management, a certificate in Leadership and Governance and a certificate in Computer Studies.
He is the Chairperson of the Cooperatives, Trade, Marketing, Tourism, Industrialization and Enterprise Development committee. He also serves in various County Assembly committees including: Powers and Privileges, Gender and youth, Transport and Public Works.
Hon. Kiragu is an astute leader and has worked in various leadership positions within his community. Prior to his election he served he served as the vice chairman of Thiba Dispensary, vice chairman of Mukou Primary School. He as well served as a grade supervisor for the Mwea Multipurpose Rice mills. He is also chairperson and secretary in various groups.

 

Hon. Muriithi Caroline Wanjiku

MCA-Karumandi Ward

Hon. Caroline Wanjiku Muriithi is a Member of the County Assembly of Kirinyaga elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ticket to represent Karumandi Ward. She is the only woman elected to the County Assembly from among then twenty wards
Hon. Caroline holds a degree in project planning and management from the University of Nairobi. She further holds a diploma in Business Management.
Hon Caroline is currently serving as the vice chairperson of the Sports and Social Services Committee of the County Assembly. She is a member of Education and Legal Affairs and Delegated County Legislation Committees.
Prior to her election, Hon Caroline served as specially elected member in the Second County Assembly nominated by the Jubilee Party. During her time as a nominated MCA Hon. Caroline represented her colleagues at the County Assemblies’ Forum; the coordinating body of the 47 County Assemblies of the Republic of Kenya
She also served as chairperson of the Gender, Culture, and Social Services Committee. In addition, she sat a member in various County Assembly committees including: Youth and Sports, Finance, Economic Planning, Marketing and ICT, Ward Development, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Veterinary and Fisheries, Legal, Justice and Delegated Legislation, Powers and Privileges, Women Caucus and the Speakers Panel Committees
Hon. Caroline is a seasoned politician; she served as a councilor for the Kirinyaga County council under the defunct local authorities prior to her nomination as a Member of the County Assembly.
When she is not doing politics Hon. Caroline loves to read and participate in sports; indeed she is a great volleyball player.

Hon.Muchina Eric Muriithi

MCA-Kerugoya

Mr. Eric Muriithi Muchina is Member of the County Assembly elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UD) Party to represent Kerugoya Ward. .
He holds a Degree in Business Administration majoring in Entrepreneurship from Kenya Methodist University. He also holds a Diploma in Business Administration –management option. Eric also holds a Certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) from African Nazarine University.
Hon. Muchina serves in various County Assembly committees including: County Public Service and Administration, Public Investments and Accounts and the Committee on Education.
Prior to his election Hon. Muchina served as member of the County Assembly Service Board representing the public for two terms
He started his career as a Clerk with Karimigumo Horticultural Growers and Macadamia people before joining Aquaaero Clearing Agent, a Clearing and Forwarding Firm in the position of Sales Executive. Eric then moved to join Parliamentary Service Commission as an Office Manager/ Personal Assistant for Mwea Constituency Office a position he held until his appointment to the County Assembly Service Board in 2013.
Hon. Muchina is passionate about motivating people, travelling, dancing, and socializing. He is involved in Agribusiness mostly engaging in horticulture, coffee and rice farming. His other interests are small business enterprises and property management.
Eric is married with two children and is a staunch Christian who is actively involved in the church activities and community work.

Hon.Mbogo Isaiah Muriithi

MCA-Kabare Ward

Hon. Isaiah Mbogo is a Member of the County Assembly elected under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party to represent Kabare Ward. Hon. Mbogo is Bachelors of Pharmacy graduate from the University of Nairobi. He is currently serving as the chair of the Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation Committee in the County Assembly. He is also represents the County Assembly at the County Assemblies Forum a body that brings together the forty seven County Assemblies. He sits a member in various committees of the County Assembly including: the Speakers Panel, Legal justice and County legislation, Procure and Rules, Trade, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Sports and Youth and Liaison Committees. Prior his election he server as a pharmacist at the Kenyatta National Hospital and at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. He has also served as banker on Contact basis and is a mentor with the Equity Group Foundation under the Wings to Fly program. When he is not serving the people of Kabare Hon. Isaiah loves to read.

Hon.Nyaga Charles Nyamu

MCA-Murinduko Ward

Hon. Charles Nyaga Nyamu is the Member of County Assembly elected under The Service Party (TSP) to represent Murinduko Ward.
He is Master of Science in Environmental Science graduate majoring in Soil Science from Kenyatta University. He also holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from the same university. He is currently serving as the chairperson of the Education Committee in the County Assembly. He also sits as member in various Count Assembly Committees including Environment, Water and Natural Resources, Finance and Economic Planning, Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation, and the Powers and Privileges Committees.
Prior to his election as a Member of the County Assembly, Hon. Nyamu served as a relationship Officer with Equity Bank and later as Relationship officer with Banca Assurance – Equity Bank a subsidiary of Equity Bank Kenya offering insurance services.
Hon. Nyamu also served a stint at the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) as a Research Assistant before joining politics.
Hon. Nyamu has a keen interest in Environment Studies and has published a thesis on the Long-term Effects of Cropping Systems, Residues and Phosphorous on Soil Actinomycetes in Western Kenya.
He is passionate about environmental protection and works closely with the government and other stakeholders to contribute to the sustainable protection of the environment as an Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit Consultant registered with the National Environmental Authority.

Her education beacons a Diploma in Business and she is currently serving as the vice-chairperson Finance Committee.
Hon. Susan also serves in other committees such as the Legal affairs and Delegated County Legislation, Implementation and the County Public and Administration Committee

Hon.Mitaru Beatrice Njoki

MCA-Specially Elected

Hon. Beatrice Njoki Mitaru is a Member of the County Assembly of Kirinyaga specially elected by the United Democratic Party (UDA) to represent persons with disability. She holds a diploma in Technical Education Programs Information Technologies from the University of Nairobi.  She possess extensive knowledge in ICT help desk services, system administration with expertise in design, software developing, website development  and systems implementation and end users support. She is currently serving as the vice chairperson of the Committee on   County Investments and Accounts. Hon. Beatrice sits as a member in various County Assembly committees including; County Assembly Business Committee, Committee on Education and the Budget and Appropriations Committee. In the second County Assembly Hon. Beatrice served as the vice chairperson of the Cooperative Development, Trade, Tourism Industrialization and Enterprise Development Committee. She sat as a member in the Transport, Roads, and Public Works, Gender, Culture, Social services, and Children, Legal Justice and County Delegated Legislation, County Public Investment and Accounts, and Assembly Welfare Committees . She also served as the   Organizing Secretary of the County Assemblies Disabilities Legislature Forum Prior to her nomination as a Member of County Assembly, she served as a volunteer trainer  training persons living with disability groups on enterpruenship and project management, record keeping and loan management, paralegals and poverty eradication, drugs and drugs abuse prevention. She has also utilized her ICT skills and has been engaged as a website designer and developer, hardware maintenance and computer networking. Hon. Beatrice is a successful business lady and formerly served as the Director, KNCCI Kirinyaga Chapter. She is committed to leadership and service to the community and is also currently sitting in the board of management –Karoti Girls and formerly in the board of management Kagio Secondary School.  She has also served as a chairperson various groups of persons living with disability. She is passionate about leadership and management, socializing, business and education. Her advice to people living with disability is to make sure that their abilities blossom and shine so that all the dreams they have can come true, to register with the National Council for People with Disability and ensure that they undergo a doctors’ assessment in a public hospital. 

She pledges to continue with the good work of uplifting the lives of People Living With Disability and partnering with likeminded organizations to assist in empowering more persons with disability in the county economically.

Hon.Mwaniki Lucy Njeri

MCA-Specially Elected

Hon. Lucy Njeri Mwaniki is a specially elected Member of the County Assembly of Kirinyaga elected by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party to represent women and meet the two-third gender rule.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Gender and Development from Kenyatta University. She also holds a Diploma in Management Information Systems, a Diploma in Business Management, a certificate in Computer Studies and Business Application and a Certificate of Proficiency from the College of Insurance.
Hon. Njeri is currently serving as the vice-chairperson of the Committee on Budget and Appropriations Committee.
Hon. Lucy sits as a member in various commitees of the County Assembly including: Appointment, Powers and Privileges, Gender and Youth and the Environment, Water and Natural Resources Committees. She also represents the County Assembly in the County Assemblies Forum.
In the second County Assembly Hon. Lucy served in the Transport, Roads and Public Works, Selection, Members Welfare, Women Caucus, Adhoc Response and the Speaker’s Panel committees.
Prior to her nomination as a Member of County Assembly, Hon. Lucy served as a savings and loans clerk with Bingwa Sacco Society Limited for seven years then later joined the County Government of Kirinyaga as a member of the Budget and Economic Forum.
She is an entrepreneur with an interest in business. She is the director of Lucitec Enterprises and a member of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry –Kirinyaga Chapter.
Hon. Lucy is passionate about women empowerment, a passion that led her to found the Kirinyaga Women Empowerment Link. She is also a human rights defender and a member of the Kenya National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders.
She is committed to leadership and has participated in various leadership and governance forums.
Hon. Lucy loves to mentor fellow women and take part in charity work in her free time.
Her passion for women empowerment led her to bag the Inspirational Women of the Year award in the year 2015.
