Members of the County Assembly have approved the appointment of Mr. Henry Antony Kimathi to the position of the County Secretary and Mr. Teddy Njeru Muchiri to the position of the Chairperson of the County Public Service Board.
The approval comes after extensive vetting of the duo by the committee on Public Service and Administration which is chaired by Hon. Bernard Gichangi. In a report tabled in the house, the committee asserted that the duo was suitable to hold the offices they have been appointed to.
Moving the motion, Hon. Gichangi Bosco noted that Mr. Kimathi is an experienced civil servant who has served the country in various capacities and has left a positive mark in each of them. He cited his exemplary performance at the county directorate of Early Childhood development and Education where Mr. Kimathi is currently serving as the director.
In his speech, Hon. Benson Ngahu bespoke of Mr. Muchiri’s friendly demeanour which made him which made him perfect fit for the position of the Chairpseon of the County Public Service Board. “Besides his impressive academic qualifications, Teddy is a friendly person and am confident he will relate well with the rest of the members of the board and offer strategic leadership in the board” said Ngahu
In his remarks Hon. Harrison Kariuki congratulated Mr. Muchiri for his appointment to the board and urged him to ensure that persons with disability who meet the requisite criteria are considered for employment in the county public service.
MCAs who spoke in favour of the appointment congratulated the two and wished them the best as they embark on their duties
