The Committee on Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation in exercising its oversight mandate has conducted an enquiry into the recurrent expenditure for the County Department of Medical Services for the period between July 2021- March 2022.
The enquiry sought to provide facts on the alleged fraud, exorbitant pricing and noncompliance to procurement laws by the department at the time.
As part of the enquiry the committee heard responses from Mr. Patrick Mwaniki who at the time served as the County Commodity Nurse.
The committee chaired by Kabare Ward MCA Dr. Isaiah Muriithi Mbogo is expected to compile a report on its findings and present the same to the County Assembly
