Members of the County Assembly have given a nod to the appointment of Shujaa Rose Wanjiru Wachira O.G.W as the Chief Officer for the County Department on Administration, Special Programs and Liaison.
The approval comes after rigorous vetting process during which Ms. Wachira’s academic qualifications, experience and suitability for the role were closely examined and a report tabled on the floor of the assembly.
While moving the motion, the chairperson of the committee on Public Service and Administration Hon. Gichangi Bosco praised Ms. Wachira’s commitment to public service noting “as a committee we express our confidence in the nominee’s ability to deliver on her roles in the department”
MCAs speaking in favour of Ms. Wachiras appointment noted that her experience, likeable personality and enthusiasm for youth empowerment and her efforts in fighting drug abuse made her a perfect fit for the role.
Ms. Wachira has previous served as a director for sports in the Directorate of Youth and Sports, and as a Director in charge of Administration amongst other roles. She is expected to formally assume office in the coming days joining a team of county chief officers tasked with advancing the county’s development objectives.
