Members yesterday approved nominees to the Facility Improvement Fund (FIF) Board in line with County Assemblies Approval Act (2017) and section 7 (1) (e) of the Kirinyaga County Health Facilities Improvement Fund Act, 2023.

Mr. Wilson Kamau Kirathi will now serve as the Chairperson of FIF board after meeting the requisite qualifications as stated in the above mentioned acts. Other Members who were approved to serve in the board include,  Ms. Judy Wanjiku Njiraini and Mr. Peter Maina Wambui both of whom will represent the business sector and youth respectively.

In a separate motion, members yesterday approved amendment to Assembly standing orders in a move that will see creation of a Ward Development Oversight Committee. The newly created committee will be mandated with the responsibility of providing oversight on implementation, execution and progress of development projects across the 20 County Wards. The committee will also foster and promote effective consultation, collaboration and cooperation with the Executive during planning and implementation of Ward Development projects.

The amended standing orders will also allow County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) to answer questions pertaining their departments at plenary sessions.
