MCAs call for revitalization of Kirinyaga Agricultural Training Centre in Kamweti

Members of the County Assembly have called for the revitalization of the Kirinyaga Agricultural Training Centre in Kamweti.
In a report by the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Commitee MCAs observed that the centre was not reaching its full potential.
Moving the motion, Hon.Fredrick Maina of Inoi ward called on the management of the institution in collaboration with the County Department of Agriculture to improve access to agricultural technology, provide quality training facilities for agricultural development and promote sustainable land use.

Committee on Public Service Summons KIRIWASCO Staffer to shed more on issues raised by workers Union

The Assembly Committee on Public Service yesterday summoned the finance and resource mobilization manager at Kirinyaga Water and Sanitation Company (KIRIWASCO). Mr. George Mureithi was tasked to shed more light on allegations raised by the workers’ union in the institution. Among the issues that the union has alleged include non-remittance of workers’ pension which was said to affect most employees especially those who had retired years back.

Committee on Medical Services Conducts Analysis of the Recurrent Expenditure for the Department for the July 2021-March 2022 period.

The Committee on Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation in exercising its oversight mandate has conducted an enquiry into the recurrent expenditure for the County Department of Medical Services for the period between July 2021- March 2022.

Medical Services Continue To Be Top Priority As MCAS Pass 2023/2024 FY Budget.

MCAs have passed the 2023/2024 Financial Year budget paving way for the facilitation of services in the county.
Tabling the budget report the Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriation Committee Hon. Geoffrey Gakuru of Kiine ward said the committee held consultative forums with all departmental committees and also gave consideration to the citizen views on the budget as presented to the committee during public participation forums.
