The Leader of the Majority Party and Kerugoya ward MCA Hon. Kamau Murango has sought a statement from the CEC member for Gender and Youth on the plans for mobilization of the beneficiaries of the Inua Jamii fund in all the Wards in Kirinyaga County. In his statement request Hon. Murango noted that the National Government Has released Ksh. 4,377,292,000 for payment to 1,094,323 Inua Jamii beneficiaries to cushion vulnerable groups (older persons, orphans & vulnerable children and persons living with severe disabilities)with each beneficiary is expected to receive Ksh. 4,000.
Hon. Murango further noted that the National State department for Social security has written to the Council of Governors requesting all Governors to assist the National Government in mobilization and awareness creation with regard to this matter.
The Deputy Speaker and Kariti Ward Mca Hon. Wagura who was chairing the sitting directed the statement to the Sectoral committee on Gender and Youth chaired by Hon. Caroline Muriithi. The response is expected to be received by the assembly by 15th July 2020.
