The office of the Leader of Majority Party is established pursuant to Section 10 (1) of the County Governments Act 2012 and Standing Order number 15 of the County Assembly Standing Orders. The Leader of Majority Party is elected from amongst members from the largest party or coalition of parties.
Functions and duties
• Spearheads the legislative agenda of the largest party or coalition of parties in the Assembly.
• Acts as the spokesperson for the party’s position on issues
• Is the link between the County Assembly and the County Executive
